The Adventure Syndicate Scholarship

Supported by Shand Cycles

The Adventure Syndicate is pleased to announce a new scholarship, funded by Shand Cycles, to enable a woman to enter a long-distance self-supported event like the Transcontinental or the Tour Divide.

The scholarship will consist of £1,000, plus support and mentorship from the Syndicateers. The winner will be expected to ‘pay forward’ her good fortune by designing a project, based on her individual skills and experience, that will ensure as many other people as possible benefit from the award.

Before we open applications, the money for the scholarship will be raised by raffling off a made-to-order Shand Stooshie frame (as ridden by Emily Chappell), which Steven and Russell of Shand Cycles have very kindly offered to donate.

It costs £25 to enter the raffle (and you can enter as many times as you like). The winner will be drawn at our Glasgow Long-Distance Ladies event on the 18th October.

Entries for the scholarship itself will be opened towards the end of October, with a late-November deadline, and a winner announced by the end of the year. We’ll make further announcements in due course, but if you'd like to register your interest, ask any questions, or request the application notes, please contact us: hello@theadventuresyndicate.com
