Train Your Brain Virtual Bootcamp for your Mind

Friday 18 th – Sunday 20 th September 2020

17.20 - 19.00 each evening (with a follow up session on 29th Sept)

Replacing the Train Your Brain weekend originally planned in Scotland’s Cairngorm National Park, we are going online instead.

Over three consecutive evenings with a follow up session on 29th Sept, you will get the opportunity to learn and practice some techniques to help you get your mind working to your advantage on the bike or in the outdoors. Our mind is complex, mysterious and packed with potential, but it’s easy to focus on our physical ability, with little attention to some simple ‘brain-training’ that can help us overcome blocks and challenges.

It is thought that the ‘typical’ human being repeats ninety percent of their thoughts from one day to the next, and that by the time we reach our mid thirties, our brain is wired into very repetitive patterns of thinking. If we think the same, we are inviting the same experiences into our lives, and generating familiar emotions. Repetitive habits of thinking have huge impact on our wellbeing, ability to experience new things, to be the best of ourselves and to overcome our limitations.

The virtual bootcamp for your mind will allow you to get clearer about where to focus your thoughts, how to train new habits into your brain, methods to access your powerful subconscious mind and enhance your mind agility and mental processes connected to motivation and performance.

Participants will be led by Paralympic handcyclist and gold medalist, Karen Darke, www.karendarke.com. Her life of challenge and adventure has given her a passion for how to break the habits of being ourselves and overcome the limitations that habitual thoughts can create. She has Diplomas, Masters and other relevant qualifications in sports psychology and hypnotherapy, but has lived the journey from low confidence to some surprising adventures around the world, along with her decade of so of experience as a Paralympic and Commonwealth Games athlete.
