The Adventure Syndicate’s annual gathering of like-minded women all keen to explore what they might be capable of, will take place in Monachil, Granada in the south of Spain from 5th to 12th January 2019.
We encourage participants to learn from each other but also present on the camp offering their brains for picking will be Lee Craigie, Jenny Graham and Laura Moss.
Based out of self-catering accommodation in Monachil, Granada, we want to offer women who already have some experience of travelling long distances (ie are capable of riding 100km a day for more than one day) the chance to develop their community of adventurous people as well as their own self-reliance and fitness base this winter.
As before, rides will not be officially led but GPX tracks will be made available and assistance in forming groups will be given. Cooking and eating together will also be part of this camp in a way it has not in the past.
This year there will be the option to rent bikepacking equipment and spend an evening sleeping out in the middle of a road based 230km circumnavigation of the Sierra Nevada range. There is also off-road riding available and guiding on these routes is offered via our friends Ride Sierra Nevada at an extra cost. Mountain bike hire from these lovely people is also possible.
A road, gravel or mtb with slick tyres bike is recommended.
Monachil is placed on the edge of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Good weather is not guaranteed. Just saying ;)
Cost £250 (includes 6 nights self-catering accommodation, airport transfer, bikepacking rental equipment. You are responsible for booking your own flights to Malaga or Granada)
Places this year will be limited to 8. Be quick! Click here to pay in full and reserve your place.
NB For riders developing their ability to ride long distances and who feel they might need a camp that offers more structure and led rides, we plan to run an additional camp in Mallorca in February. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
